Find help and healing for the hurt of separation and divorce
Meeting Time:
Starting Sunday, February 24th at 9:00, DivorceCare will begin again. We will meet in the Church Office through May 18th.
Biography of Betty Smith, Leader:
I serve as the facilitator for the DivorceCare group. I was born in San Antonio, Texas and my parents moved to Houston when I was 3 months old. I have basically lived my whole life in Houston except for the 4 years I pursued college. After graduation I returned to Houston to begin a career as an elementary school teacher. Four years later I married. We had a son 3 ½ years later and after 12 years of marriage, we divorced. I am presently enjoying my 4th year of retirement after completing 33 years at LaPorte Elementary. I am blessed with a wonderful son, daughter-in-law and a precious granddaughter. I thoroughly enjoy the flexibility of spending more time with family and friends, especially those times being ‘grammy.’ I also enjoy working in my yard and reading.
In addition to facilitating DivorceCare, I also enjoy coordinating several outreach events and serving on the Children’s Center Committee at Parkgate.
