Studying:
We are currently studying The Patriarchs by Beth Moore. One purpose of the study is to discover how far God will go to bless His children. Full of twists and turns, ruin and redemption, revelation and mystery, this study of Genesis 12–50 keeps participants captivated by the God who stars in it!
Throughout this study of exciting, engaging intrigue, participants will plunge into the heart of Genesis, to God’s remarkable pursuit of relationship and to the unfolding of His earthly plan: that through one nation—and ultimately, one man—all people on earth will be blessed. Many of the most profound and enduring concepts in the whole counsel of God’s Word are initiated in this marvelous book of beginnings. We will explore concepts such as blessing, covenant, and promise, and the bearing each has on a New Testament believer’s life today. Group members will also explore the Hebrew names of God introduced on the early pages of Scripture. The Patriarchs gives participants the opportunity to see a perfect and holy God endure in His relationship to man, whether man is at his best or at his weakest.

Biography:
I grew up in Michigan and attended a small liberal arts college there. After college, I moved to El Paso Texas where I taught in a missions school for three years. I then went to Asbury Theological Seminary where I received a Master of Divinity degree. After living, working, and studying in Anderson, Indiana for four years, I moved to Kendleton, Texas in 1988 to teach at Bay Ridge Christian College. During my tenure at Bay Ridge, I taught Christian Education, Bible, and Theology classes, served as registrar, and finally as Vice President for Academic Affairs. It was during my time at Bay Ridge, that I completed my Ed.D. in Administration and Leadership. I currently work in the Interlibrary Loan Department of the University of Houston Libraries where I anticipate working until I retire.
I began facilitating this class in the summer of 2007. As an ordained minister, I am privileged to serve the larger Church of God as our district's vice chair with responsibilities on the Credentials and Program Committees, the Business Resource and Leadership Committee on the national level, and as a resource person for the TAG and teaching workshops sponsored by the National Church of God's Christian Education and Congregational Life team. I enjoy reading, knitting, needlepoint, and my patio plants.
